2014 in Pictures

2014 was a big year for me. I started BHMM, went so many places, got so many amazing opportunities, and the year is coming to an end. Today I'm taking a look back at my year in pictures.

I performed in The Wizard of Oz with some of my good friends...

And competed for Teen Miss Dance of Ohio, winning the interview award.

I saw the Lilly Pulitzer jeep...

And started BHMM.

I competed in the first dance competition of the season...

And got my first college mail? Crazy man.

Went to my favorite beach, Hilton Head Island, for spring break...

And went to Keeneland many times.

Mother's Day happened!

Performed in my 10th recital for my dance studio...

And saw Beyoncé?

Competed at nationals in Orlando, FL...

And turned sixteen with an amazing Gatsby-themed party.

Started my sophomore year of high school...

And went to many a UK game.

Went hiking for the very first time...

And got to spend one of my best friend's 15th birthday running around downtown.

I attended my Sadie Hawkins dance...

Went to SEC Nation and met the one true queen Kaylee Hartung...

And channeled an icon for Halloween.

I competed for Miss Dance of Ohio and won second place in interview...

And got my first red cup of the season.

I performed in a super fun Christmas show with my dad and sister...

And had a fabulous Christmas.

Nana's Peppermint Bark

Christmas may be over, but there's still such a festive, wintery mood everywhere. One of my favorite treats during the holiday season and wintertime is the peppermint bark my grandmother (we call her Nana) has made for as long as I can remember, and today I'm sharing her recipe with you!

All you'll need for this is a one-pound bag of white chocolate, a one-pound bag of peppermint pieces (or crush the peppermint yourself, you do you), a cookie pan, and a big bowl for mixing and melting.

The first step is to melt the chocolate. Put it all in your bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until it's smoothly melted with no chunks.

Then you get to add the peppermint! This is subjective and you can put as little or as much as you want in your melted chocolate. We put in about half the bag and stirred.

After mixing in your peppermint, spread it all out on a cookie pan. Don't spread it too thick or thin (about a half inch) and know that it doesn't have to cover the whole pan.

Pop it in the freezer for about thirty minutes and let it harden. After taking it out of the freezer, take the end of any utensil to break up the chocolate into pieces.

And you're done! This is a great little treat to munch on or is a great little gift. I know I'll be eating some right up until New Year's.

Deck The Halls

Dress: c/o eShakti // Shoes: Nine West
Coat: Ann Taylor

Merry Christmas y'all! I've had a great day and can't believe how fast Christmas came this year. Today I'm showing you guys my outfit for Christmas dinner with my family.

This dress from eShakti is one of my new favorites. You can never have too many black dresses, and the mesh cutouts along the bottom and the neckline make this one a standout. eShakti is a great resource for a tall girl like me who is always having to compromise in one area or another for dresses to be long enough for me seeing as they offer custom sizing. I custom sized mine and it fits perfectly, not to mention the pockets. Opaque black tights and pumps streamline the black and complete the look. I added some simple gold jewelry and this gorgeous red coat to complete my Christmas outfit.

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas!
