Happy Halloween...Mr. President

This past Friday was Halloween, as I'm sure all of y'all know, and I had such great time.  I don't know about you, but I just can't do the scary aspect of Halloween (Just ask Justina who dragged me into Halloween Express yesterday). However, I absolutely love dressing up and going to parties with my friends, not to mention the candy. I've had my costume planned for a couple months and I think it's perfect.

Dress: Halloween Express // Shoes: Antonio Melani
Lipstick: L'Oreal // Clutch: Charming Charlie

So I'm actually obsessed with this. I love Marilyn and her whole story (Read her published diaries, she's not what you think she is); I knew she'd be a great person to portray this Halloween. This dress mimics hers in "The Seven Year Itch" to a tee, keeping on the long side and fanning out perfectly. These sparkly shoes which you can also see in my Sweet Sixteen post are actually super comfortable and were perfect for spending my night with friends. I kept my iPhone, some gum, lipstick for touch ups, and a little perfume in this champagne colored clutch.

I found a great makeup tutorial online that nailed down Marilyn's iconic look, from the winged out liner to the iconic red and used some of my favorite products. My hair was the ultimate struggle, seeing as Marilyn's iconic bob is nothing close to my ridiculously long hair. With a fake bob from this great tutorial, I mastered the short, curled hair of the fifties.

I had so fun portraying one of America's most recognizable faces for one night. Marilyn was an icon of her time and still is today, and she makes the perfect costume for this October 31. Happy Halloween y'all!
