Bluegrass State of Mind

Sweater: c/o Shop Local Kentucky // Shorts: Express
Boots: Franco Sarto

Y'all know that I love working with the brands that make my state proud, and today I'm doing just that. I joined up with Shop Local KY to show their Buffalo Plaid Kentucky sweater. The minute I saw it on their Instagram, I was obsessed, and even more so now that it's a staple of mine. Besides being perfect for the current basketball season, it's super soft and keeps me warm with the freezing Lexington weather. I layered with a classic white button up to keep it simple and added these adorable Express tuxedo-striped shorts with tights (Again, freezing Lexington weather) and black boots.

This post is also a collaboration with some of my other favorite Lexington bloggers! With five of us and one post each weekday this week, I can't wait to see how others style the same Buffalo Plaid. Check out Mindy and Shelby's posts with more to come later this week.

XOXO- Gossip Girl Link Up

Coat: Calvin Klein // Shoes: Nine West
Dress (underneath): J.Crew

The day has finally come! I'm so excited for this and to see all of y'all's outfits. Channeling the Blair Waldorf was so much fun and I'm obsessed with this look.

My inspiration came from this picture of Blair from episode 4x11 "The Townie." Queen B is known for her fabulous coats, so I thought this houndstooth would be perfect. Sheer black tights and black heels kept this very simple, but I played up my jewelry with some fun bracelets and my monogram (of course).

Now for the link-up questions!

  1.  Who is your outfit inspired by and why did you pick them? My outfit is inspired by the one-and-only Blair Waldorf. Her style is timeless and what I dream of wearing.
  2.  Favorite Gossip Girl moment? Blair and Chuck's impromptu wedding at the end of the show. Her perfect Elie Saab dress, the Central Park location, the almost Bonnie and Clyde-ness of it. It was effortlessly perfect.
Have your own post you want to add to the link-up? Click the button below and join! I'm so excited to host this with Carrie and Michaela, check out their blogs for their posts.

Mad for Plaid

Sweater: Old Navy // Scarf: Charming Charlie (similar)
Jeans: American Eagle // Boots: Hunter
Watch: Fossil // Ring: From a jewelry sale, similar

One of my favorite winter spots here in Lexington is the Triangle Park Ice Rink. It's a cute little spot right in the middle of downtown and is so fun to go with friends. I went with JC a little while ago, but of course we had to bundle up, and today I'm sharing that outfit with y'all.

I started off with a thick sweater and jeans to cover up on the ice. This huge blanket scarf with so cozy and the wide range of colors go with just about anything. For walking to and from the park, I wore my new Hunter rain boots in Military Red. I'm absolutely obsessed, prepare to see them in many upcoming posts. They're actually great for walking and are perfect for any weather. I stuck to my favorite silver watch, simple earrings, and a lucky elephant ring for jewelry and I was set to go.

The cold never really did bother me, so I had a blast ice skating. I didn't fall surprisingly coming from the girl who has fallen twice this semester in the school parking lot, and definitely want to go again soon!

NYC Pinspiration

A week from right now I'll be in my favorite city in the world. I'm leaving this Friday for New York City with a bunch of my dance friends to take a theatre intensive and I couldn't be more excited. It's been over a year since I've been to the city and I can't wait to be back. My Pinterest has been full of pictures of the Big Apple recently, and today I'm sharing some of my favorites from my NYC Pinterest board.

I'm counting down the days, only 4, and I can't wait to leave for the city. Time to get back to packing!

Welcome Back

Sweater: Forever 21 // Vest: J.Crew Factory
Necklace: J.Crew Factory c/o Michaela Fisch // Jeans: American Eagle
Earrings: From a jewelry sale // Boots: Franco Sarto (similar)

Winter break has come to a close, and it's time to come back to the reality of school. My days of staying up watching One Tree Hill (y'all I'm obsessed) and sleeping in past noon are over, but I'm glad to be back on a routine.

For my first day back I picked this super easy outfit that was perfect for our chilly weather. Pairing my new herringbone vest which I got monogrammed with one of my favorite sweaters kept me warm in these below-freezing days. I'm loving this statement necklace that Michaela, who I call mom, of The Monogrammed Midwesterner got me; it's a perfect neutral statement. These houndstooth earrings add a little bit of fun pattern and tied in the gold of the zippers. My favorite black boots and jeans completed my look.

I hope y'all have had a good first week back at school if you've started yet. It's taking my some time to get used to but soon enough I'll be back in the flow of things. Don't forget to look into the Gossip Girl link-up I'm hosting with Carrie of Carrie On Blogs and Michaela of The Monogrammed Midwesterner!
